this week's index of delight...
Beginning your week with a lil dose of wonder:
“I will not give up the flowers in my heart for stones just because the world is a hard place. The world is only hard because it needs more flower-hearted people.” — Nikita Gill
Another gem shared with me via email.
This week’s topiary workshop with Mike Gibson was delightful. The event was presented on the Blooms & Bubbles stage produced by my dear friend, Debra Prinzing. Mike was a breath of fresh air, inspiring, encouraging, and empowering. That being said… my topiary needs work.

Lemon cypress: before —> er… after. And Mike and me! Bonus — Mike was artist in residence while restoring the landscape of Pearl Fryar, one of my personal heroes.
A witness mark is a visual guide that helps us to connect the pieces. It might be a scratch on a piece of metal or a line made with a marker that can be used to position one part so that it matches up with another. Personally, winter pansies help me bridge winter to spring. What is your witness mark?
