"I got you babe," on repeat
2.2.26 index of delight...
Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. — Dalai Lama
This delight is a lightly edited reprise of the one I posted at this time last year. But really, isn’t that what Groundhog’s Day is all about?
Back in that oh-so-strange spring of 2020 for about 3 months — it would have been longer if I’d had my way — my husband and I woke up to Sonny and Cher singing “I got you Babe” playing on the house speakers every. single. day.
In those early Groundhog-like days of the gathering pandemic, that silly song and its reference to a life of never-ending redundancy and redemption put a smile on my face during a fearful and unsettled time. “I Got You Babe” is refrain that plays over and over in the movie Groundhog Day starring the wise and wonderful Bill Murray.
These days “our” song is kept for special occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries and mindless Thursdays. We can’t avoid redundancy but lord knows we can all use redemption.
Let someone know that you’ve GOT them, babe.

Your book is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your beautiful insights into colour!
I got you, babe.
