Whiling away time in my garden room last weekend I started eight seed packets of sweet peas. Do I need eight varieties of sweet peas? Absolutely not. But these seedlings signal my faith in the future. They are a form of garden currency and personally, I love to share the wealth.
Can other people remember the scent of flowers? I certainly can remember the scent of sweet peas from my lunch break walks through the Pike Place Market!!! Thank you for getting me going on planting some as soon as we get over the up coming week of seriously cold weather passes down here in the Shelton area. At least the ground has gotten a little moisture which it needed so badly after our cold dry January. Still it has been lovely to watch the frost and snow come and go each day from our field and the fir trees! Watching little birds flit in close to the trunks to find little bites to eat. Rather colorful February we are having, too! Especially after the foggy, foggy days and nights of January. I need to get out there and take some pictures of this time of the year for future reference! I have minimized my news intake.
I keep up, but I don't need to watch the endless repeats. We each need to do whatever it takes to stay sane. I am thinking we need to form some privately funded organizations to fill-in for what is being destroyed. That is what previous generations had to do before FDR and President Johnson. I wonder where we could find a local billionaire to support some libraries that did not ban books on a whim. And might help fund our local tech schools and scholarships? Hmmm? :-)
All the yes to this. (Geez. Some days, just getting out of bed feels like an act of faith!)
Hello, love. We help each other. xo
I am grateful to discover you and I are on the same page, politically. So glad to connect with you.
Thanks,
SL
If ever we need connection it’s now. Thank you
