for your index of delight this week...
The more we look the more we see. The more we distinguish, the greater our ability to discern further detail. The generosity of our attention enlarges our perception. — from Color In and Out of the Garden **, by Lorene Edwards Forkner (me!)
This week I stood before a class of first graders (Hi Vito — Nana loves you!!) talking about how we can look for hidden colors in nature. Seeing kids earnestly hold their crayon up against the projected image, evidence of how closely they were paying attention, grew my heart.
Honor good things with your attention.

How wonderful a way to introduce kids to noticing color variations in things. It's a great introduction for 1st-graders. You taught me to see many more color gradations in a single flower/tree branch, etc. I like your 9-square layout best, and I must say, I have never run out of colors to put in them, no matter how "simple" the object. Bravo!
“Honor good things with your attention.” Ah - i can focus on this simple direction and agency today…
